Snack Time – Chickpeas

The day can get pretty hectic, especially when running around and picking up after two little people. I tend to get pretty snacky throughout the day. When I’m busy I get lazy (who doesn’t?) I look to the 3 C’s to get me through Chips, Crackers and Chocolate, highly addictive, yet a poor nutritional choice to say the least. So, my girlfriend gave me a great chickpea snack recipe, which I tried and LOVE!!!! So here you go my DIY friends:

Ingredients – everything is to taste, and plus who likes to measure ingredients anyhow?

  • Can of chickpeas
  • Tahini
  • Lemon Juice (fresh or otherwise)
  • Curry Powder or Cumin or any spice of your choice
  • Salt
  • Bragg’s Nutrional Yeast Seasoning
  1. Set your oven to 350F
  2. Rinse chickpeas
  3. Dry chickpeas with paper towel (kitchen paper as those of you UK’ers like to call it, I watch British Television, and if it’s on TV it has to be true!)
  4. Mix remaining ingredients
  5. Spread mixture on chickpeas
  6. Put chickpea concoction in the oven for 40-45 mins, and as Ron Popeil says, “set it & forget it!”
  7. DONE!
