A while ago I repainted an old frame, it was just hanging around until I decided to use it for this post. Of course, Dahlia helped me pick the colour. “Hot pink is THE ONLY way to go Mommy,” apparently I have a 16 year old trapped in a 4 year old’s body. I didn’t want to disappoint, so I went with hot pink. This particular shade is called Tutti-Frutti from Behr Paints.
I will tackle DIY frame/furniture painting in an upcoming post (note to self…finish that blog post).
Let’s get started! Supplies shown below, fishing wire, mini clothespins, tape and painted frame. Regular sized clothespins work as well, but you might have to use a stronger tape, i.e. Duct Tape, not Duck Tape…I get that question a lot and apparently so do the nice people at the hardware store. Or at least that’s what I’m told.
I passed the fishing wire through the spring on the clothespins. I went once through the hole, then looped back through to keep them in place along the wire.
I opted for tape to fasten the fishing wire because knowing me, I’ll likely want to re-purpose the frame at a later date. I fastened four lines with clothespins, you could do more or less depending on the size and number of cards you wish to display.
But…here is how it would look if I tacked a bit of fabric onto the back.
So there you have it. A quick and easy Valentine’s Day card display. As always, feel free to email me with any of your DIY project questions. Happy Valentine’s Day Crafty Friends.
